Just got the SVT back on the road - the batt was out for a while, so the OBD readiness check code was on until just today (50 miles of driving).
Took it to get inspected and it was showing that Evap Sys, Oxygen Sens, and Oxygen Sens Heater still had not passed readiness checks.

My code reader shows nothing wrong, but I was wondering what most people saw on how long those would take to clear, a couple hundred miles?

When I converted my Celica back to stock trim and ran into this the day of my inspection, it took about 100 miles for the Toyota to show readiness. - AB

I may be wrong on this, but I think I heard that there are counters for # cold starts as well, and it's not just about mileage

You could be right on that Dustin. I didn't get mine to go on a single 100 mile trip, mine did it over about 4 days of driving around with multiple cold starts per day. - AB

Each manufacturer has different drive cycles for each alarm that determine readyness. I would consider contacting Ford or a Ford dealer and asking them to give you the drive cycle procedure. Worst case for some cars, I've heard of Dyno time being needed to reproduce the exact cycle that triggers readyness. That was usually on 96-97 cars though.

I believe some of the readiness tests are also ambient temperature sensitive although if I remember correctly the delays were all due to cold (below freezing) temps. I have a code reader that shows which readiness checks have been completed which is helpful because my Contour SVT has the same problem. The NC DMV rules (I think) vary by car build year for how many have to be set for inspection (early OBD2 cars were allowed two unset, then it became one, then ?) . So you might not need to get them all set.

That said, the best plan is to follow Michael's advice and ask Ford, I'd bet its a fairly frequent question and since they do Inspections they should know.

Thanks guys - the rule for mine was that I am allowed 1 unset.

Hopefully the drive down to CMP will do the trick - and I don't get pulled over!
