 Post subject: NB miata question...LSD?

How can you tell if an 5spd NB has LSD?

I was told that all LS have LSD, but if you find a base with the sport package, it would also have LSD. The thing about the latter option is that it seems easy to put that rear trunk lip on a base.

A link to a good NB trim level document or first hand knowledge would be appreciated.

If you are looking for additinal advice beyond what is offered here, go to here http://forum.miata.net/vb/

Miata.net is honestly going to be your BEST friend while looking. Dont forget to read the "what to look for when buying" in the garage section. There are horror stories of people buying a seemingly good miata to cary it off to a scrap yard due to rust.

When I was shopping Miata's way back when, I just called the Mazda customer service and they were able to look up the installed options by the VIN. I was explicitly looking for an ABS car, and you'd be surprised at how many dealers and private sellers don't know what an ABS pump is.

The same folks at Mazda also confirmed, and double confirmed, that the sport package could be ordered on the LS, thus justifying my upgrade after I bought the car.
