I wish I had gotten a chance to watch you run. Since you were right behind me all I got to see was you coming across the finish line. I wouldn't use any of my runs as a baseline unfortunately with how much of a candy ass I drove like yesterday. Jay's 56.1 was something like +4 so I assume a high 56 could have been done clean.

Best of luck with the STi. I will be watching BS run at DC very closely, though I do hope a certain Silver S2000 with pimpy wheels takes the win this year over the killer STi.

Do STIs shred tires or are they pretty okay for that? I know it's not going to wear tires like a Vette or an S2000, but hopefully it won't be as bad as, say, a DS E46. Just curious.

So you see what I did there.

Indeed. ¿Como se dicé "swaybar'?

Aaron I'm looking forward to seeing you two launch that thing on the concrete in Blytheville.

I'm not sure what I'm driving.
Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

FWIW, I'd put driving an STi above an RX-8, personally. The jury is still out on the S2000, but I think it's fair to say that once prepped I'll like the S2000 more. That said, I don't think the STi is nearly as bad as some claim or as bad as it can look on course (the description of Chris driving sounds like old tires plus gritty asphalt plus overdriving a bit). Jonathan made the thing look fun. It is fun, until you get a case of overdoing things and making it push, then it becomes un-fun fast, sure.

Here is a couple of videos of my runs. Run #4 is the 57.9+1. I never thought I even got close to coning and I think while the video doesn't show it conclusively, I felt it was clean. There was a lot of novices working first heat. ;)

Run #5 was a 58.2+1, which was a more obvious cone :)

As you can see, it wasn't much of a STi course. The videos are best viewed in 480p.

Run #4

Run #5

Looked like if anything you need to get closer to the cones. But that comes with learning your car, and that takes a little bit of time, certainly. If you hit one, it was certainly with the other side, that much I know!

But yeah, that course was, err, not awesome.

Not a bad first time out. Car is rolling a lot, though. Looks like you were going to full droop on the rear.

Agreed on the droop. I think the 34mm bar will help with that, along with adding some bump to the rear. - AB
