As someone who has followed these guys since my mom took me to my first concert back in 1989... and seen them 11 times since, I'm very bummed out today.

http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles ... aerosmith/

Seems as though Steven has called it quits, from the numerous injuries sustained on the last tour, plus he's now over 60, which for rock and rollers equates to around 87.

Joe Perry is talking about getting a new front man.... YUCK!!!! Seems as though Aerosmith may take the Foriegner/CCR/Lenord Skynard route, probably be headlinning county fairs within the year.

These guys have been around for 40 years, have produced some poppy crap (Armegedon Soundtrack) but NOTHING ROCKS like Mamma Kin.

RIP Aerosmith 1972-2009

Dude it's spelled LYNYRD SKYNYRD as any self-respecting southern rocker would know. :P

the ones sticking around for rehash tour number 34. many are broke. pissed away their money on toys, drugs, hookers, whatever. so now they are desperate for money. i wouldn't waste my time or money going to see them. that's why they make CDs :-)

Thanks Gwennie,

Yeah I'm alive now. The last week was horrible. Forget the back pain from the fusion. The meds thet gave me made me so sick. I threw up everything, started dehydrating, and wouldn't wake up. Cut out all meds except anti-nausea until we got it under control. Going from Percocet to nothing for pain was hell for a couple of days. It's under control now. No more Percocet for me. Just Darvocet. Doesn't do much but it isn't bad. Started walking outdoors today. 1/4 mile jaunts. Did 4. Tomorrow a bit more. My surgeon told me no 2 mile walks yet. I'd do them if they didn't say not too. The bolts and screws in my back hurt but not too bad. Standing and sitting is a bear. I'd go do an AX if Ann wasn't looking ;-)

Graham

Sorry, Aerosmith…….but to continue off topic…
Graham, so glad things went well for you. As we had mentioned at the autocross, Bernie’s daughter had the same surgery on the same day. Six screws, 2 rods, etc. Except, she’s had some problems, had to go back into surgery on Friday night and is still in the hospital for a few more days. She had a spinal fluid leakage which produced horrific headaches. She’s had similar problems with pain medication as well as antibiotics that you had. Due to the leakage she’s been allowed up very little.

Don’t overdo things. I’m glad you’ve got Ann to keep an eye on you. Hope you’ll make it to the Christmas party though.

I'll echo welcome back as well. I had a co-worker go under the knife for the very same thing last week. Must be something in the water. Glad to hear you're starting to get the pain under control and getting the walks in. I guess we'll start seeing more of you on the forum now considering that 3 page dissertation you gave on mods to the corvette for Donnie 8)

Just for kicks and grins....
How many of them got hit by a run away wheel from an 18 wheeler while driving 60 mph down the interstate? I'm just saying.

Gwennie, standing up for us old guys, Baake

Jake,

Nothing against Aerosmith dude. They are one of my all time favorite bands. I just haven't felt the need to see any of them on their Geriatric Tours. More power to them though!!! Didn't mean to hijack your thread.

They may not have had back surgery but most of those boys are permanently chemically preserved. I'm pretty sure Keith Richards will be turned over to the CDC so they can figure out why he hasn't killed himself with all those drugs. Then the remains turned over to the Smithsonian. LOL...

Thanks Rodney and Gwennie. Meds are under control. They don't know what happened with what they gave me. I almost went comatose. I have to go for some testing soon so they can figure out why they can't medicate me. Although the Morphine worked great!!!

PS: Rodney I suspect Donnie would ignore any post I make. However the build up on the C5 is accurate. I know I can build one to run that track under 2:10 all day. Closer to 2:04 actually. :-)
