It's a shame that an E46 won't quite fit.

I can't imagine it is any different from any other Vtec Honda product.

it's not like i was ever sidelined by mechanical problems in the nsx. oh wait, yes i was. twice this year in fact!

in all seriousness, as long as they're properly maintained the nsx is an excellent track platform. light, stiff, great visibility, very good suspension design, solid engine and transmission, no real weaknesses or problem areas. both of my problems were due to busted coolant hoses (the car has like 25 of them, some had not been replaced when i thought they had) but otherwise i beat the snot out of it with nary a problem. i don't know the seller of that car personally but he's a frequent poster on the nsxprime track section.

I'm sticking with Keith's old $1,100 rallyx car :-)

Oh, and I forgot to mention the photography. "Camden Thrasher" knows his way around a camera.

He is down to $35,000. Which I would imagine is a heck of a deal for what the car is.

that's incredible, i bought/sold my lightly modded street car for not much less than that. and he's right, the spares package is worth 10k (nsx motors are hard to come by).

There's that whole "NSX motors are hard to come by" combined with "all JDM parts for Hondas are hard to come by" combined with "I'm sick of dealing with Honda shit breaking on me."

The NSX is just too rare of a bird for this. Too unproven in something like LONG endurance racing, too, AFAIK. Has it been done? Sure. But not on much of a scale. BMWs have been raced in this manner for eons. In many different forms.

So given that, how about these two choices:

http://www.motorsports-group.com/sale_carsbmw49.asp

Sure, one has that Euro 3.2 motor, but damn it's cool otherwise. The other could probably be built with an S54. Hmmmm.

not that i am an expert but the first one, 71 for 78 seems rather reliable.

Does 45k come in the neighborhood of "as cheaply as possible"?

Not exactly, no. But what they'll actually take for the car combined with what it appears to be worth might get there.
