For some unknown reason Outlook has suddenly stopped down loading pictures in emails. I have it set to block until I right click on the picture box but now, when I right click on it the whole box disappears and no picture is downloaded. When I go to tools, security and check the box to allow pictures to be downloaded again, none are.

Any of the computer experts out there have any ideas?

Office 2003 or Office 2007? How comfortable are you with going through your registry? Did this change occur after upgrading from Internet Explorer 7 to IE8?

this computer expert suggests switching to thunderbird for a mail client.

btw you never want to allow your mail client to download *anything* automatically when viewing email, that's how spammers track which messages are actually viewed (reason #37 why html email is bad bad bad). that's why gmail won't download images without your permission.

Definitely switch to Tbird as Jason says, and if you want integrated calendar management install the Lightning add-on.
