What you’re looking at here is the Mazda MX-5 Superlight concept, scheduled to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The model is a MX-5 speedster that has been stripped of weight and a windscreen.
Mazda says that the MX5 Superlight concept features lightweight technology that improves performance, handling, fuel economy and reduces CO2 emissions. Unfortunately, the concept is nothing but a show car as of right now - so we’re guessing that it hints at Mazda’s future efforts to incorporate fuel-saving technologies into its vehicles.
No word on what’s under the hood, so for now we’re speculating that the concept carries Mazda’s current 1.8L or 2.0L gasoline engines.
We’ll bring you more details as we get them

Calling something 'Super Light' w/o a published weight is just a tease. Besides, who wants a car with no windshield?

I don't think yours is what I would call a 'production' car.

Even in your car I'd prefer a windshield though.
