this is quite possibly the worst written most random rambling newspaper article i think i have ever read.

sorry Matthew.

i did however enjoy the quote aboute Corvettes needing to be driven by people that know how. :P hell, that exempts 95% of the people that buy Corvettes.

I was out sick today. I don't know the background on the story. Not really written for us car guys though is it?

Such a shame really for that Z06 to languish in the hands of the WCSO.

As if cop's heads aren't big enough already. I'll be waiting for the story to come a few weeks from now where one of them bites off more than they can chew and winds up in a ditch.

They wont say anything to the press about it. Do you think they will tell us when or why it was totaled?

It is in the News and Fishwrap today. Sheriff still no commenting on how the vehicle was purchased, but a lot of information on how the tires only last 10K miles and how expensive it is to maintain, and how difficult it is to drive, blah, blah, blah.....

It is certainly much safer to be driving the Crown Vic at 100+ mph than the dangerous sports car.

I want to see them put the bumper crash bars on it though.

it said on WRAL that it was a drug seized car. and they went to court to get it. they will use it, then auction it off at a later date. and donate that money to schools.

they said the reason why they will not auction it now is because they will not get a good sum to donate, so im guessing they figured "why not just use it and abuse it and sell it later" something that a lot of us do

This car was at the NASA hyperdrive this weekend. Norbert Watts (spelling?) was the deputies instructor. After Norbert drove the car he told the deputy to take it to a dealer, it would only hit 135 on the back straight. The car runs so strong they didn't realize the it was only running on seven cylinders.

lol, that's norbert for you.

"Well, let me tell you....I don't think its running quite right. I could only get 135 in the back straight...and that's a little slow."

I can recall Jr Johnson's (Evo school owner/instructor ZO6 driver extrodinaire) comments about the ZO6: "That car is a lethal weapon in the hands of an untrained driver, They should require a racing license to purchase one."

How many patrol car wrecks have there been in the last year? I only hope they don't take any civilians with them...

Just saw this on I540 with an Altima pulled, good thing he had the Z06 as a regular patrol car wouldn't stand a chance against that Altima.
