Car is looking good and Ryan didn't loose any fingers. Life is good (well, maybe not for the neighbors). Race day will be here soon, glad it is coming together. Good looking numbers and decals. Where did you get them done?

We got the Grim Reaper running again and have been working our way down the "to do" list.

Hey, would somebody please alert me when my balls (dimpled or otherwise) are being bashed?

I am going to Signs Now tomorrow for the CHA graphics. They had my new car two days last week before the figured out they didn't have enough vinyl to do the whole thing much less my Lemons Teams! I had to do a track event last with my name only on the car one place. OH the Horror! I felt naked.

More pics of the work I have done on RiZo this week.

We decided to make our own OMP-style pedals to save a little money. I used 1/8” steel plate and grip tape. I curved the plates to match the OMP ones with the press. For mounting, I welded ¼” studs on the back of each pedal. Here are a few build pics:

A co-worker gave me a cold therapy cooler/pump setup that his wife had to use after shoulder surgery last year and I planned to use that for our driver cooling system. However when I pulled it out yesterday to mount it I saw just how tiny it was. It was definitely too small for what we needed so I had to ditch that and build a system from scratch.

I had an existing cooler so I decided to use that. Next I bought a 12V bilge pump from Wal-Mart and some pipe fittings from Lowes. With a little welding (because flanges had to be added to the pipe nipples) and RTV I’ve put this together:

Next up, roll cage installation. That portion of the fun starts tomorrow.

The real question is how many 12 packs does it hold? Good job with the engineering on all the parts.

VK did you TIG weld your pedal covers? I ask because those look like individual TIG style puddles vs. continuous MIG weld.

I'm pretty sure I know which of VK's coolers that he used, and the answer is yes, it's bigger.

Nope, it's MIG...but thanks for the compliment! The 'stack of dimes' look on the weld is from the technique used, not the machine/process. You can do the same with a SMAW (stick welder) with enough practice.

Yes, it is bigger. I don't know the 'quart' size, but I'd guess it's about 25% larger than the one in Dieter.

That looks like it will work great. Have you thought of putting a pipe through the bottom with a valve to drain the cooler between races? Save you from having to unbolt it to drain it.

"Unbolting it" only consists of two wing nut/bolts. I welded plates with nuts to the floor so it's really quick and easy. Also the pump itself could evacuate 90% of the water.

We tested it yesterday with a Cool Shirt and it works great.
