Mark, I've never been there before, but everything that I've been told about the Executioner...You might want to drop those reservations and stay at the Colony with us. It's the lap of luxury, in a Camden, SC frame of reference.

Pretty soon you'll be rolling up in a toterhome with a "$500" car inside with a full crew to keep it running and hand you cold wine coolers all day.

Zima Baby. wine coolers are for fags.

I'm bringing my appletini maker just for you steve-o.

What? I can't hear you Bret. There is a cheatin'-@ss Mustang team with a siren screaming in the background. Funny thing, we won't be able to hear it though when we are in Camden...while we are SLEEPING. :sleep2:

I guess sleep can be over rated, but I heard the team that won last time got a good night's sleep beforehand. :P

Thanks Tom, I'll look into it. We stayed at the Executive Inn last year. It is not to bad, a little below the place in Camden. It was full of LeMons teams. We hung out at the track until sleep time anyway. It is only $50/night so the savings helped cover the beer and Crown costs.

I checked out the Magnum P.U. website, that is great. We'll have to get a Tarheel teams group picture at the track on Friday.

Having finally been notified that we are officially ‘IN’ for the fall 24 Hours Of LeMons race at CMP, we had a big work weekend over at my house. Members of Team Magnum PU, Team Dorifto Dogs, and Grim Reaper Racing came to hang out and turn a few wrenches. We would especially like to thank to Mark Barnes and the rest of his team for driving East and lending a hand. Yes little Johnny, there is life East of Raleigh.

Here are a few pics of the build progress from this weekend:

Here is shot of Chris Brown apparently trying to suck start the engine:

Ryan doing what he does best…getting dirty and breaking sh*t.

Here is Stephen testing to see if we actually even need a seat at all.

Here I am welding the shock back together after Chris tried to compress the shock shaft with an impact.

Some of Mark’s crew lending a hand with the rear brakes while the others ‘supervise’

Since the B20A is the red-headed step child of Honda engines, there aren’t many off-the-shelf parts available. We were warned by another team that it will oil stave in turns. Their solution was an Accusump, ours was a DIY oil pan baffle that cost us all of $0.

We (cough, Ryan, cough) miscalculated the rear spring rate/height and now RiZo has a drag car like stance. Yeah, we will need to remedy that.

We were glad to help out and get a chance to meet the gang. Looks like you made good progress on the car after we left (imagine that).

You could just fill the trunk with 12-packs until it sets level.... To be in the spirit of the LeMons race, we are have the gas powered margarita blender shipped in for evening refreshments....

Compressing a shock how? If he was seating the top nut of the strut using an impact, well, that's pretty commonly done, although not the best method. - AB

You had to be there, but he just went a little too far with the gun. It was no big deal really, but we love to rag Chris at every opportunity. I just welded the remaining portion of the shock shaft to the top hat. It can't be removed now, but it will work just fine (rear shock) for LeMons.

Very nice. Chris' prowess with tools is once again becoming legendary :) - AB

Since Team Dorifto Dogs was also in attendance at VK's household this weekend, we also got a helping hand from team Grim Reaper. Our car is undergoing a canine "species-ectomy" and will be a new breed for the September LeMons event.

Thanks to Mark and crew (a bunch of Brians...)

He's not working on a car per se, he's working on the paint (which just happens to be on the hood, which just happens to be on a car).

Doesn't really count IMHO.

BTW, what the HELL are you guys doing sanding on that car? If I send that pic to the LeMons judges you'd be banned for sure!! Sanding is not in the true spirit of LeMons.
