Yep, with all of the commotion over at State College today, I guess it's time for the UNC System leadership to step in and and right all of the wrongs. Starting with undoing that ill-conceived name change that took place back in 1963..

One thing that bugs me is how a few years ago NCSU decided to do some "marketing" and change all short references to the school to "NC State." That's all well and good, but they went a little too far in making ESPN use "NCST" on their scoreboards and score tickers instead of "NCSU" like it had been since the invention of TV. It *might* be more acceptable if they used "NCSt", but "NCST" implies an acronym, which it isn't. I don't know of any other universities that ESPN does something like that for.

It's dumb and it bugs me. I don't know why. Call me pedantic, I guess.

I think they're just getting a laugh thinking about how you might pronounce that acronym that isn't an acronym.
