They will now be partnered with FIAT. Hmmm first they tried the Japanese (Mitsubishi), then the Germans (D-B), now the Italians, next time maybe the Chinese

Maybe the bright side of the Fiat buyout would be something like this...

The Fiat 500 Abarth SS

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

A funny quote from Glenn Beck last night:

"So now the 3 biggest stockholders who will be running Chrysler are: the UAW, the Italians, and Barney Frank. Sounds like a recipe for success"

Just thought that was funny.

Additionally, GMAC is taking over Chrysler's financial division. Seriously, this is actually happening here and should really scare people about what role the government is taking over business.

Yeah, the government taking over all this crap is troubling. What happened to capitalism/ natural selection? :?

I definitely haven't been thrilled with the way things have been heading in this country, but wtf?

If they're serious about all this, Fiatsler needs to push Abarth as a new brand like Toyota did Scion.

Or GM did Saturn, or Ford did Merkur, or Chrysler did AMC.

Saturn - killed by GM's internal apathy about the brand (I love the Astra - too late)
Merkur - don't know enough to comment
AMC - a turd from the beginning. Did they make anything decent besides the Javelin/AMX?

I stand corrected. See Jalopnik on how Daimler/Chrysler screwed that pooch.

I'm holding out for the Abarth Punto GTX. You know, the one with the Hemi.
