The legs were tough to get spinning correctly. I finally got them right for the first day. Sometime in the afternoon of the second day, they got loose and started to make the head vibrate. I didn't know there was such a thing as plexiglass fatigue, but that's what happened. The fracture started at a bolt hole in the front near the neck. We still have him with most of his head, but minus his neck and upper back.

I was going to use it as a lawn ornament, but will probably just have a memorial service now! :wink:

I will save the legs for future projects. I tried many designs before I got these to work. The air flow over the car limits forward spinning. I actually told the team before the race, "There is no way these legs are going to spin."

After the Am drivers meeting, we were told to bring our car up to tech along with the other Mustang. Since we blew up, they let us go on our way. I talked to the Mustang guy shortly after and he said they were told it was their car going to the crusher and not to pack up and leave like last year. They drove it until 10am then went to work removing everything possible...
