Good luck. Hopefully they will bring the ST version.

I had a huge Ford Fiesta Movement after my morning coffee...

Sorry, but that is the first thing that came to mind. I was envisioning one of these

The new ones look much cooler!

Scott you have a Festiva there. The Fiesta only came over to the US from 78-80.

Speaking of the Festiva, they're not that bad. Hell, Leno has one:

Maybe an ITR in DS.

I thought they called that thing a Shogun. It is a Festiva with a Tarus SHO drivetrain in the back.

What gave it away? The fact that it says "Shogun" on the front fascia? ;)

Ahh, Ford Festiva great memories. My last year at VT I lived in Roanoke and we had a carpool with 4 guys, on Friday's the guy with a Festiva would take a great curvey road back from Blacksburg after we had stopped at a store that had a special on long neck beers (a rarity back then). All perfectly legal at the time.

Simon, hope you are selected. Let me know when it comes in .. I'd like to see how compares to the 1978 Fiesta S that my mother DIDN'T buy.

Mom was shopping for a Fairmont, and we had gone to the dealership in Wake Forest (Chappell?) They didn't have any six cylinder/manual trans Fairmonts in stock, so the salesman suggested she drive a yellow Fiesta S. Mom said she was afraid a car that small wouldn't keep up in traffic (she didn't know that its blazing 10 second 0-60 time was the fastest in the Ford fleet in 1978), and the salesman set out to prove her wrong during the demonstration drive. He ran it up to 90 in a 2-lane construction zone on US-1, then slowed to about 70 and demonstrated the zero scrub radius feature, by dropping the right side wheels off the pavement to the gravel shoulder several inches below, then snatched it back onto the concrete. Good thing about that zero scrub radius, because we didn't lurch over into the oncoming traffic. When he stopped to turn around in the lot of the ABC store just above NC 98, Mom declined his offer to let her drive it back. She also declined his offer to let me drive it back. About then I noticed how white Mom's knuckles were where she was gripping the door handle.

Simon,

Did they ever give you a Fiesta? I saw the one again today for the third time.

Too bad. I seem to recall reading in the paper a few weeks ago about a two local guys who were chosen. As I recall, they were not planning to do anything as interesting as rallying.

I went to the Fiesta Movement website, and was starting to think that Ford had exclusively recruited a bunch of flakes for the promotion, until I got to this guy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brgt350/3586063085/
