Can these be rebuilt? I have noticed recently that I get a little oil under mine when I use it. Today, while working on the Miata some, I went to raise a corner only to realize the jack was not holding pressure. I tightened the handle some more and got the same result, this time with a huge pool forming under the jack. It looks as though there is a seal at the front of the piston and that is where the leak is coming from. I am guessing the seal is bad now. Is it worth even trying to rebuild, or should I just pony up for a new one?

Bleed the jack using good oil instead of the cheapass Chinese crap. I bled mine with decent ATF and haven't looked back. Assuming that you don't have a busted o-ring, you'll be fine.

A procedure that worked for me: http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums/sh ... bleed+jack

I dunno if bleeding it will work since oil was basically puring out from the piston towards the front of the jack. I guess it is cheaper to try bleeding it before buying a new one though.
