Just when they were getting to the point of producing some REALLY interesting cars -- 1970's here we come? Let's hope not.

I wonder how many 2009 CTS-Vs will be sold. I would assume they will continue to build out current models already on the market and not immediately cease production as this article just makes mention of the design phase. Imagine being one of the top engineers in that group and getting your "new" assignment in core products area -- ugh.

Took the words right out of my mouth Richard. Instead of throwing them into the layoff pile and further increasing unemployment rates. At least GM has the sense to apply them to other projects. Maybe be boring but still getting paid.

It is a shame to see that group disbanded though.

Odds are the best ones (the ones you don't want to lose) are going to create their own future...at least that was my experience ages ago in the corporate world. They may enjoy the fact they have a current job, but they'll be looking for opportunity to pursue their dreams.
