Looks like he finally did it (or it's contageous).

At today's "nationals warm up" I was riding with Tom Hoppe and a 1-2 shift finished with a big "clunk" right between 1 and 2. Looks like tranny number is ruined in Tom's car.

On the way home (I made it to the middle of Cary) I was forced to downshift to 2nd gear and that resulted in a loud "thunk" and now the Celica doesn't have a 2nd gear synchronizer.

The powertrain warranty expired exactly 1000 miles ago, fortunately, we bought the "Gold" extended warranty (84 month, 100,000 mile) and synchro's are specifically covered under that, shoud be a minimal cost to repair.

Dang, sorry to hear about that scott.

I'm going to be draining the fluid tonight and see how many (hopefully none) metal chunks come out. I hope its the damn clutch

BTDT. We're on clutch #2, Tranny #2.
We probably will be putting in clutch #3 sometime this season.

I think shultz touched my car last year at the Sanford event that he showed up to. That would explain it for me
