What is the H in D16YH?

Anyways, Japan direct might be a good source for a motor (http://usedengine.com/). As far as installation Gary Gordon would be a good source. His number is 919-244-1042 and he offers a 12mo warranty on parts and labor.. Tell him I sent you. You should be out for somewhere between 1500-2000 if you go with those two I would guess.

I agree that the D16YH is odd. I have never heard of that. I wonder if the "H" is supposed to be an "8". D16Y8 is the SOHC VTEC that would be in a 1996-2000 Honda Civic EX.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Before next week? Good luck. Now as to this "blew his (motor) yesterday", are we talking about abuse or neglect, or both? In either case, I think some punishment is required. Either give him a bus schedule, or set him up with this http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... xists=true and sell the old car to Ryan.

try japan direct. they supply oddball japanese engines.
Though I dont know about install.. may be on your own there.

anyway, just put in a k20 vtec. and be done with it.

or the more reasonable route: b16a1 dohc vtec si motor. great mill

as far as punishment goes: i think this will teach him about, maintaining his automobile:

believe it or not. shocauto.com can ship you a trabi, then you get them ship it from canada to wherever. buy them at not cheap price, but hey... it is coming from hungary of all places. It is a long way from anywhere.

As far as punishment goes, it was an honest mistake. It was not from abusive driving or standard neglect. He changed hi own oil and didn't get the plug tight enough. It came out sometime during the drive back from somewhere late an night. From the way it was told to me, it all went south quickly.
