Mustang: looking into some new tie rod ends, steering shaft to replace my OEM rag joint, AMB Transponder, metal mounted fire extinguisher/may splurge for a bottle. Coat of wax..... Need to look the part for my first season running the Time Trial.

Me: NEED TO LOOSE 20 lbs. May sell my welder to get a HANS Sport.

24 hour of Lemons: It looks like my small shop is going to be inheriting a possible lemons entry. The team consists of two doctors, two rocket scientists and a forest ranger... My canvass: a early 90's volvo sedan... still in the brainstorming process.

Racing or DE? There's another option on the horizon which is a lot cheaper and a lot less spendy than the HANS ...

If you're lifting a wheel, well, you're got plenty of bar.

OK, on to my next question. These two sentences contradict one another - or at least I think they do. Can you clarify?

In this case "plenty" == "too much." But we were talking about the going to more, not less.

There may be stock class cars where the right compromise for most autocross situations causes some front wheel lift on big sweepers. I think it's not the norm, but not terribly uncommon, either. But I think if you're lifting in transition then you've got too much bar. Or way too little rear shock, but I'm working under the assumption that the shocks are at least in the ballpark with these generalizations, too.

Does Karl already have too much front bar? You'll recognize this scene from the right course at this years's DC Pro. Old asphalt, but a little camber help from the slope, and rubber laid down by the faster drivers.

Correct front bar or not, that was the shiniest S2000 out there !

On camber, downhill, sweeper, near exit, not much lift. Probably okay. Maybe he could have stood more rear compression? Hard to say.

Art, I was hoping you'd see this thread and be able to put your hands on those photos from DC. I remembered it was tripoding a bit up there.

Adding compression is off the table, as my shocks are singles, not doubles. Mostly because I wouldn't know how to turn the knobs on a set of doubles. Well, not to make the car any better, anyway.

The bottom version has been tested and should be streeting soon for under $150.

Interesting...

G-force has a tether system which resembles this system, only its looks waaaaaay cheaper in quality, which is why I was looking at the HANS.

Do you guys think it will only be a matter of time before venues will start requiring a head and neck system for their events, and not just fender to fender racing events...

The new in laws don't like these track days very much and are convinced that I'm going to die and leave their daughter with two kids to take care of... this is the source of the HANS pressure on my end.

Surprisingly enough my better half doesn't seem concerned..

well,
I am considering a jump from SM2 to SPO, but a lot of that hinges on what happens in January.

If I stay in SM2, I will probably just see where I can get some weight savings,
Get the MS system up and running
new fuel maps
and new R888's.

The G-Force system has mediocre testing numbers compared to Hans and Isaac stuff.

The testing results of the NEW Isaac Link will blow you away.

Tell the inlaws if they are really worried to pony up for some life insurance. I know a guy.....

going on 2, thank you very much.

(like that is any better)

Big thing is I don't have a harness, and I will have to make a piggy back harness from scratch. It would be nice if I could just find one on sale.
