Is anyone planning a trip to/from CT over the holidays? I'm working on getting a used rollcage (for an 88 Integra Lemons entry) and am willing to pay $75 to anyone who could pick up and bring back to NC. It's an autopower bolt-together, so the main hoop is the largest piece.

Let me know! Easy money!

I am making a trip to see family right after Christmas. Our car is usually packed on the way back, but we might be able to fit a cage. What are the dimensions of the biggest piece?

Mike,
Where in Connecticut? I'll be going up to Mass to visit Becky over Xmas. I can't get it into the Golf, but I could take the pickup.
Let me know.
Chris

Thanks guys!!

I am actually waiting on a freight cost from the seller -- he has a forklift and a loading dock. If that doesn't pan out I will let you guys know!

yeah, I remember Diesel fuel was ~$1.00 per gallon back then too...... ;)
All shiping costs have gone up dramatically in the last 2-3 years.

Individuals get screwed on shipping costs for stuff like this. The only way to get a huge discount is to be company that ships lots of freight and has negotiated rates with a trucking company.

I'd be interested to see what this guy get quoted...

The cage is only $200 so we're willing to pay $150 to ship it. Six people paying is gooood.

Mike,
Check out Grey Hound Bus line. They have started shipping bulk items on busses now that they have so much empty space. I have heard their rates are dirt cheap.

I think they've been doing that for years- I used Trailways (I think) in 1995 and it was a good deal. It's probably a better deal now, as Marty mentions. Most folks have a bus terminal not too far from them (although, like me, they may not know where).
