I'm not gonna comment on the environmental impact of the diesel fuel/gasoline method other than to say that from what I've heard, it's not very effective, IMHO you'd be better off with the boiling water method. That is, just drench the mound with boiling water. This is an old farmer's remedy and is surprisingly effective- but not 100%.

As I said before, you're not likely to kill all of the ants with any of these methods, the best you can hope to do is kill some and encourage the rest to relocate to someone else's property.

Walter, did you get your Andro from Jose Canseco? - AB

Yes, then you piss on the ant hill. The ants get very aggressive with each other and kill each other.

Not to mention their testicles shrivel up and fall off- so that helps too...

Really, you should try the shovel full of ants method at least once. Chemical free, personally satisfying, and worth the time invested.

I'm definately trying this method next time I see two mounds. Then I'm grabbing a beer and a chair to watch the entertainment. 8)

Cruel but equally as entertaining is to take a lit cigarette butt and stick the filter in the mound. They just won't stop climbing it, shriveling, and falling off. - fire ants deserve it. I'd never do this to bunnies.
