I'm doing some consulting work for a firm in Durham. The section I work with is developing medical software. They have a tech support group now that provides customer support for 100 or so installations (mostly hospitals). They are in search of a full time support person that understands Windows Server 2003, networking, web apps in general. This is a full time position.
This position requires fielding customer phone calls and doing remote installations and upgrades of the application. The developers are in the same building so you have instant access (most of the time) to the brains that wrote the software you are supporting.
Some programming experience and database experience would be beneficial. Must be cordial, polite and patient when dealing with customers on the phone. This is a desk job. A small group already exists doing this and you would become part of that group. The company is fairly small but growing...
