Just wanted to let everyone know that I have founded the Wolfpack Sports Car Club (wolfpackscc.com) with the help of some great peers. We have about 41 members and they are great guys extremely interested in the sport and getting involved. We are expecting to hold an event in the next couple of months so keep your eyes out and I will keep posting updates here. We are currently looking at three different locations to hold our first event. Our main problem is fund raising if anyone knows of any opportunities for us please let me know or drop us a line on the website. Cheers All!

I'm interested in seeing what sites you're looking at.

Two sites are associated with the University and one is owned by the city of Raleigh, after we have secured a final location I will post it.

I was a member of the NC State Sports car club. I think it went under in 1981. We had the problem with sites then too. NCSU would let us rent on campus sites but since we had almost no budget that put an end to Auto-X.

Good luck with reviving the club.

I was too...in the late 70's. We used to autox in the lot in front of the parking deck (which is now where the deck was expanded some years ago).

Well I can talk about the on campus locations, we are looking at using the large parking lot in front of the Mckinnon Center on problem is that the lot has light poles which any course would have to be planned around.

The Second Site is a large paved area by Carter Finley Stadium.

This year we did the EV Challenge in the smaller triangle lot below the corner lot, and as slow as most EV cars were it was less than 30 seconds IIRC. Way small.

We have used the same lot over there for the last few years. Yes, it is small. But beggars can not be choosers. I say go for it and just mind the safety aspect. A 25 second autocross is better than no autocross at all.

I know for the past three years, all of the EV courses were a little different. So you can vary it there too.

If the Carter Finley lot works out, see if you can swing the RBC center too since it's pretty much joined at the hip.

Well guys the RBC center and Carter Finely are a no can do. Athletics has them on lock down and technically the RBC center isn't part of NCSU so they are definitely a no, but we have gotten the McKimmon Welcome Center to allow us to use their parking lot. So here are the details.

And the LeMons race at CMP.

Which I'm guessing equals - don't be discouraged if the turnout is low - lots of conflicts.

How big is that site compared to say, Greenville or the VMP lot? I'd be going if I didn't have the conflict.

If Greenville's site were Texas

The McKimmon center would be Rhode Island

Not unless there is another parking lot there.
