After seeing Mike's post about who among us works at IBM, it made me think of something else I've always wondered.

Who else in the club was born and raised here in North Carolina? I like to see the percentage among the membership. My guess would be less than 15%. :(

Me...born and raised in Tarboro, NC.

Born and raised in Thomasville, NC, home of beautiful furniture, lots of rednecks, and giant chair sitting on a pedestal in the middle of town.

This survey is unfair and I'll explain in simple terms so that everyone will be able to understand. If you were born and raised in N.C., then that means that you were educated in N.C. . I know some of you are starting to follow me, but for those of you who can't keep up (and you know who you are), take notes. So, if you were educated in N.C., then the chances that you can read and comprehend such a survey or even operate computer are highly unlikely. This is why this survey is unfair to true N.C. natives. I'm only interested in fairness. So let's hear it from all you banjo playin' commador 64 usin' bumpkins. We'll wait while your over-exercised right index fingers mash away at dem Timex touch pad computers of yours.
Please excuse any spelling, grammar or punctuation errors that are contained in this post. They are only there to make some people feel more comfortable. What am I talking about? Some of y'all (and again you know who you are) wouldn't know a punctuation error if it jumped the tracks at conjunction junction and ran over your pet opossum.
The above post was brought to you by the Support Howard Dean for President Campaign.

I'm so sorry, but somehow Howard got a hold of my computer and in an attempt to win votes, posted the above message. Again, I apologize and I can't wait to see some of my old friends this spring. (and you know who you are)

At least it wasn't a red faced rant...

No option that fits me better than "born and raised in NC."

Born in Hickory in '72, lived in Indiana from '73 to 75, lived in Chapel Hill from '75 to 82. Spent the next 18 years hating Michigan and trying to get back to NC, finally accomplised this (permanently) in '99.

West "By God" Virginia

Technically south of the Mason-Dixon line, but Northerners consider me to be a Southerner and Southerners consider me to be a Northerner. Not sure exactly what I am? :P

Oh, the "By God" thing is an expression used by West Virginians to proudly distinguish themselves from Virginians. It drives me nuts when someone says "Where are you from". I say, "West Virginia". They say, "Really, I visited Richmond once. Nice place".

Born and raised in Maryland (close to DC, don't hold it against me). Came to NC for school and haven't left yet. Go figure...
