Jerry Reed - songwriter, singer and most of all (for us) the character Cledus Snow in the Smokey and the Bandit movies, died Sunday.

Funny thing, his name popped into my head while I was watching Hurricane Gustav coverage from New Orleans yesterday.

Some of his hit songs:

Amos Moses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WK2y66qFDs

When You're Hot You're Hot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9EJ0qXNJGg

Wow! I didn't even know he was still alive. Now that I do know, it's a shame that he's no longer with us.

Too bad.
I liked, "She Got the Gold Mine and I Got the Shaft".
He wasn't the greatest actor, but he was funny.

Saw this in the paper this morning. :(

I have had "East Bound and Down" stuck in my head all day so far. :D

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

You mean... you don't ALREADY have a copy? Get to the store as soon as it opens in the morning and buy one! If you get pulled for speeding, just tell the officer "I'm in hot puh-suut!".

Som-Bitch! They were all out... uuuf!

LOL ... for some reason, I've just never picked up a copy, even though it really is one of my favorite movies.
