Well the Crossfire is gone and it has been replaced with a 2008 S2000 in Chicane Silver with the two tone red/black interior. Took delivery of it today with about 70 miles on it. Honda of America 0.9% financing rules. I guess it means welcome to AS for 2009. Here is a crappy pic from when I got home and pulled it into the garage this evening.

Oh and I am already in love with having a roadster again. Plus it is faster than the Miata ever was even though I never even hit VTEC. But then again it better be considering the price difference.

While I personally don't care for VTEC cars much in general, I gotta say the S2000 is still one of the best looking roadsters ever made. And you picked a great color for that car, too. Just stunning.

Mazda really should go radically different with the next Miata. I still can't believe what BMW did to another truly beautiful roadster, the Z3. The Z4 is just plain heinous.

Donnie, for a Subaru owner, you've got good taste in cars

Keith, I just noticed something - your windshield surround isn't black!

Next time you see another one on the road, look at the windshield surround. It's actually vinyl tape. Must be a 2008 thing?

Has a softtop so it can't be a club sport. Welcome to AS! Pretty soon it's going to be harder to tell the silver S2Ks apart than red Miatas!

Congrats Keith! The S2Ks are awesome cars with fantastic build quality - I'm officially jealous of you, Karl, and Rick! Chris and I were talking very seriously about getting one for her to drive next year in AS, but some of our money is taking an unexpected detour for future home plans. I tried to convince Chris that buying one would be a much better investment than a house we could live in for another 40 years and/or to cut corners and go with a super cheapo daycare for the girls, but she told me to shut up and babysit because she had to go race the STi with Donnie & Jonathan :-) The S2K is definitely one of the top three most fun stock class cars I've ever driven, the other two are the Z06 and Elise. FWIW, I'd rank the early Spyder 4th, 1999 Miata 5th, and the scalding hot 1988 Buick LeSabre T-Type a close 6th.

Sincerely,
The Peterson Family Nanny

Thats interesting. I am glad it is body colored, I like that look better than a black surround. Yet another interesting change for the 08 model year. Oh and it does have the 4 speakers mounted in the roll bars. They worked really well driving home with the top down yesterday.

I looked at, drove, and priced out a couple different CR's. I could have easily lived it with everyday except the dealers within 100 miles of here that had them were dicking around with me about what they would sell them for but the final deciding factor was the lack of softop. It is my daily driver and the ability to drop the top at a moments notice made the difference. Even though the CR has even stiffer springs, the 2008 has stiffer springs than all the other previous AP2's

Thanks for all the kind thoughts, I have wanted one for about 8 years and finally could afford one and justify having one as a daily driver at this point in my life.

I won't be a Subaru owner for much longer!

And I've never been thrilled with the looks of the STi. I always thought it should have never had the dumb wing and given it's "roots" should have just been a plain old Subaru and a "sleeper" of sorts. It's not ugly (other than the wing), but it's not *hot*, either (like the S2K). Never will be, and no amount of big gaudy wing or gold wheels and trim will make it so. *sigh*

Anyone interested in the car Sportcar picked to win AS and ASL at Nationals this year? :D

Great choice Keith!!! I was looking at the CR's pretty seriously, but I passed it up because the lack of the softtop option. Then again, that's where the weight savings is.

Have you made a decision on your wheel/tire choice yet?

I looked at the CR very seriously but many have said the lack of a soft top option killed it for me. I would have loved a manual soft top option. Mazda did that with the Club Sport Miata back in 2003. You could get a soft top delete car or a normal soft top car.

I am going to start out with a set of take off AP2 wheels and Hoosiers for next year. I don't have the budget right now for Karl's CCW bling or even the TR Motorsports wheels that go for $400 a wheel.
