Congratulations, Matt, for winning Men's Beginner <35 class at the Huck-A-Buck cross-country mountain bike race on Sunday. Matt pulled out to an early lead and never gave it up for over an hour of hard charging.

Also, congrats to Marcus McRae for finishing 5th in Men's Beginner 35+ class. Marcus got a little bruised up, thanks to a particularly slick, muddy section, but finished with a smile and within shouting distance of a podium position.

For anyone interested, results can be found at http://www.torc-nc.org/races/doc/HAB_Results.pdf

Thanks a lot Keith! Looks like I'll be joining the ranks of sport class next year as well.

Nice finish yourself too amongst the faster guys in sport. Sport class seems pretty competitive and I'm sure the extra lap over the beginners is nothing to shake a stick at, especially with the muggy, hot conditions.

Crabtree's such a fun course for all riding levels, especially for a grassroots race like Huck-A-Buck.

We need more Tarheels next year! I think we had four total this past weekend.

Who else was there from THSCC (besides you, Marcus, and me)?

I told Matt he was going to win beginner and that he should be racing in the sport class. Congrats on 5th place Keith.

I was keeping the leaders in sight on the first lap and I was really pissed about falling. The roots did not seem too slippy till that one got me.

They screwed up the results. Eric should be 3rd or 4th and me 6th.

It was definitely a hot day to be racing.

Woods trails like that are incredibly fun, but you guys are crazy. There's only one way to attack such and that is with a high-revving two-stroke providing the motivation! :)

You should have taken me up on my offer to use the KX250. That thing was badass.

I'll probably do a couple more. I have no idea when they are, but let me know which ones you might hit. I heard there's one at Harris soon- that would be a hoot!

The upcoming race at Harris is on Sunday, 8/24, called the "Race at the Reactor", which is the 4th race in the Triangle MTB Series (see http://www.torc-nc.org/races/). They should start posting class / schedule info on the triangleMTB and TORC sites very soon.

Congrats gentlemen. That looks like a lot of fun.

So like how far was one lap?

I'm kinda curious since I think one day I wouldn't mind doing one of these races at some point in time. Of course based on my past experiences of riding in the woods I give myself about 30% chance of hitting a tree and 90% chance of falling off at least once.
