I saw this about 6 months ago. I would get in an un-godly amount of trouble if I owned one of those.... <evil grin>

I've seen videos of that car in the past. It's really dumb...the engine is in the passenger seat. You can fit an R1 motor in the original engine location, apparently, with little trouble, and that's MORE THAN ENOUGH for a Smart.

But I won't be doing either one as you couldn't get is smog legal thanks to lack of OBDII.

And, FWIW, I've had a Smart car for six months or so now. It's currently in NH where a guy is customizing the bed on the Volvo semi I bought so I can haul it like this:

The truck will have what amounts to a sideways rollback for loading/unloading of the Smart. Instead of a fifth wheel I'll have an air ride gooseneck ball. I'll be able to pull my single car gooseneck trailer with the Smart or I'll be able to pull my two car tag stacker trailer and haul the Smart -or- load a full size vehicle longways using ramps.
