so the question remains, how will this affect pricing on used 997's and ultimately 993's?

I think I'm in love.

Pricing new engines for the Cayman now. It's gonna, uh, hurt.

I used to worry about silly things like "how much torque can the tranny handle", but I stopped. I figure if I find that limit then I've just found a good excuse to go sequential. *gulp*

Oh, it's not "a hit" per se when you consider there's nothing wrong with the engine I have. It's a choice made simply to get MORE POWA. Might not actually need a new engine to get what I want...hard to say yet. But I'm pricing a new GT3 motor, too.

It sounds like in a way they are moving back toward the 930/964 two part split case, but with all new crank, closed deck cylinders, no intermediate shaft for cam, new cam chains and direct injection. But not back to dry sump. Nearly an entirely new design.

Will they go racing with this engine design?

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
