Heh, time to pop over to horsepowerjunkies.com and listen to them whining about the "man".

Edit -- the street racing video took about two minutes to find.

As the people who are as old as Art McDonald like to say when they get together to map out the future of the civilized world --- that is a special kind of stupid. Especially the part about posting the evidence on the Internet, where I'm sure the authorities never look.

However, it wasn't a total waste. I'm fascinated by the idea of a Mustang with front brakes that actually work :)

So how legit is "modification of vehicles for the purpose of speeding".

Looking around, I can't find a reference to this law anywhere. I found a reference to where the the car had to be returned to stock before being sold by the state/county, but no reference to it being illegal to modify a car.

As far as returning a car to stock, I don't think that's correct. Having watched for years at the cars for the drug seizure sales, all are sold as is, mods and all. It would cost the state money to return to stock, so they just take and sale and let buyer beware.

I cannot find the link at the moment but I remember reading that state surplus cars are not garanteed to be road legal. They are sold as is. However something you buy from a car dealer is supposed to pass state inspection. My instructor in state inspection class forced the car lot who sold him a Chebby pick up to put the emissions equipment back on the vehicle. It seems the car dealer could loose his dealer's lisence for selling vehicles that do not pass inspection. Also the dealer was the inspection station and could have his inspection liscense suspended for 90 days for passing the truck.
