I kill raccoons, possum, and feral cats pretty regularly. Usually with a pistol, but I got tired of missing the really skiddish feral cats that wouldn't let me get within 75 feet of them, so I setup an AR-15 with a 9mm upper and laser. The laser is only useful at dusk and it's open sights otherwise. Still gets the job done.

We have outdoor cats of our own for mouse control, and the above mentioned critters get into the cat food and can spread disease (and generally wreak havoc with the cats anyway), so out they go.

Oh, just the other day a neighbor had me kill a wounded buzzard that had been in her yard being a nuisance for SIX DAYS. Animal control wouldn't help her out with it. *sigh* I've killed squirrels before, too. Damned tree rats.

I've killed a few kittens in my day.

Oh, did I just say that?

Oh, I killed five baby mice and their mother with a 2x4 on a concrete floor once. All in about 10 seconds.

If you kill it you have to eat it. I've been told that squirrel and possum taste good with Bernaise sauce......

As one of the regulars to the Rock store used to say "You're a mean man"

I hacked away at the ground recently after seeing a mole that I'd been battling borrowing beneath the ground. I mean a daily battle with several near misses over the course of 7 months. I was expecting to pull out something the size of a mouse. Oh boy, was I wrong on the size. Felt a slight tinge of guilt but got over that quickly enough two weeks later when it only took 5 minutes from finding a new hole in my yard to having a skewered mole at the end of my pitchfork. I'm still elated. But, ah, yeah, used to be an avid hunter but have lost the desire to do it again. Contemplating visiting my old stands with a camera instead.

AR-15 with a 9mm upper? That's hot. Build your own?

The ultimate zombie rifle :) Check out Panther Arms

I'd take a shorty in 9mm and a .308 set up for long range stuff

I've spent enough virtual money surfing ar15.com, if a certain you-know-who gets elected, I'll have to turn that into actual dollars because of my fears of new laws making eeebil big black guns more difficult to obtain.

This works with women. Maybe it would work for those dogs?

maybe get a air horn, like they have at rally races.. those make a huge amount of noise. that will sure scare the hell out of the dogs. my dog, is terrified of: the governor on the air brake pump, on big trucks.. that is really frightnening to her.
