Dear Ford,

Just give us the damn RS...

Auto Express has obtained exclusive insider details on Ford's barnstorming Focus RS hatchback!

These mouth-watering images, leaked from within Ford, show how the flagship Focus will look when it hits showrooms in the first quarter of 2009.

The pictures were generated by Ford designers to showcase the features and overall look the ultimate Focus will have, giving a tantalising glimpse of what to expect from the production version.

Ford has exclusively revealed that its Golf R32-slayer will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol engine, producing in excess of 280bhp and powering the front wheels.

And if sending all that power to the two anterior wheels sounds like a recipe for torque steer, fear not, as Ford has equipped the RS with an electronically-controlled limited slip differential which cleverly distributes torque to make sure the power goes onto the road effectively. A four-wheel drive system was deemed too heavy and expensive to justify, particularly as the new LSD system is so impressive.

We'll be getting more details shortly, so keep checking Auto Express online to get the definitive story first.

Considering they have the F150 for the truck crowd and the Mustang for the gear heads. Not bringing that here soon to attract the tuner crowd is crazy. There is still plenty of market share to be had in that sector as long as the price is competitive.

And there is the problem. Good chances a focus like this outperforms the Mustang.

And for the first time in decades, the F150 is dropping off the top 5 list of sellers.

On the other side of the fence.
Caddy CTS-V.

Okay, despite the fact that driving this is like doing a keg stand with $5/gallon gasoline, the idea of this car makes me tingly.

The Corvette and the CTS-V are probably the only cars in the GM lineup that give me tinglies.

That said, I know where I can get a Bentley Continental GT only lightly used for under $80k. 500HP+ and AWD and probably the same weight as the CTS-V make that a pretty good One Lap possibility. :)

Should I post the press release about the CTS-V and the LSA? or is the link good enough.

You Big Balla Betty Crocka.

That'd be hysterical.

I do half way seriously wonder how much weight you could drop out of one by removing the interior nearly completely and add a couple race seats. Since you *have* to stay on street tires the thing might still handle pretty decent on the air shocks.

Expensive test, though. :)

The good thing is that if you hit a deer with the Bentley, you just throw the carcass on the roof and enjoy fresh venison at your destination.

Good point. It's still way more expensive than adding a bull-bar to the Cayman, though.
