I have TWC's digital cable. I am wondering the best way to "capture" something I have saved on the DVR. Is there a way to send it to my computer? It has a USB port, but the plug seems the same as the one on my computer and I have yet to see a USB cable with identical ends. Thoughts?

The data in encrypted to match the DVR, so you can not transfer it to your computer. You may be able to record the video you output from the DVR with a VCR or tuner card. Older VCRs are not sensitive to some anti-piracy countermeasures. There may not be any either, especially standard definition material.

Random idea:

Use a slingbox and a screen-record utility. Would have to capture in real-time, assuming you're talking about video. If not, slingbox + Alt-printscreen.

Slingbox AV works great on my home network. I would get the HD-AV one if I had to do it again.
