If you're in Durham Saturday, you might want to check out the Porsche Club of America Concours at Brightleaf Square from 10 AM to 2 PM Saturday. (The parking lot at the corner of West Main and Gregson, next to Fishmongers Restuarant.)

No word on whether Donnie will be competing for the coveted "Deer Hunter" prize :P

Art, since you are more of an American car guy this one might be more suitable to you.

It's a Chevy club but they have class for Ford.

For me it's close to home and since I'm still tinkering about hotrodding that 49 Merc.
it might be a more interesting one to go.

Patrice, even a little bit of Chevy is too much for me. To be honest, I'd rather go to a MoPar meet, because I already know the one question to ask everybody who has a car on display. Conversation goes something like this:

"Has it got a Hemi?"
"Grunt.." knuckles dragging pavement .. "Yeah, it's got a Hemi... grunt"

When I think Perky, Porsche is not what comes to mind. I'm just saying.

Two things here:

1) Everyone who has seen my cars knows I'm no concours kind of guy.
2) I'm in the mountains or I might at least drive the RS up there.

There were some mighty perky looking Porsche's there today. (Drove by on the way to the farmers market.) I'll have to say there was a white Boxster that was shockingly clean. It would make Rice's S2000 seem dirty.

Very nice, but I keep thinking: Dogs and cats living together...

I stopped by the Porsche concours around noon Saturday. About 50 cars, mostly Porsches, and most of them very well turned out. One very nice 1959 Cabriolet, a 1977 928 with the blinding white/black checkerboard upholstery, a 2008 Cayman S, and a 2005 Turbo S Cabriolet, but my favorites were the 993 coupes. I like the slope nose with the old 911 greenhouse and air-cooled engines. There was also an Aston Martin Vantage on display.
