Looking to either buy a cheap set of 14" tires that are suitable for autox, or at the very least borrow some wheels/tires for this weekends autox.

I picked up that Miata and it has el-garbago Mastercraft tires on it (thought they made boats) and I can't imagine they would do very well at an autox. Worst case scenario I'll run them but figured I would see whats out there....

You can use whichever tars I don't. Meaning if it rains you can use my 13x8 V710's and if it's dry you can use my brand new 205/50/15 Azini's on my stock wheels. I'd recomend using your set if it rains though.

Edit: it'll cost you a ride or two, maybe alcohol, and how are you a detailing a Miata? j/k, I'll be hapy to help out a former BMW and current Miata driver.

IF it rains he should use the Mastercraft Tires since they make boats.

Bite you tongue! There is no control when you’re hydroplaning! Seriously, I remember thinking the same thing until it actually happened. Everybody wants to know what their control is in the wet. Then you find that aside from the “fun” :whoknows: of being out of control, if you’re driving and hit standing water you’re in for a ride (not a drive), and if you’re shagging cones you’ll be very busy, not to mention wet! :drowning:

If you seriously want to find your control in the wet, enter the VIR full course track day. They’ll have a wet skid pad. You can have an instructor ride with you.

Sunday, pray for sun. 8)

Gwennie, I've got new V710's and want to use them, Baake

You are, of course, absolutely right, fair teacher of mine. Unfortunately as much as I want to go to VIR until I have a real job :(. That may not be for several years...

I don't really want rain but it would be interesting...

It's not as much fun to work the course in the rain.

Awesome! If it does rain I'll stick with the ol Mastercrafts

I am actually a pretty good car detailer, can certainly pick up a round or two and actually run my fastest laps with a passenger so take your pick

I'll come and find you at the event on Sunday, what color/car number are you?

Thanks!

I've got a set of Azenis already mounted on stock wheels that you're more than welcome to use. I think that they all still hold air. Shoe polish is *not* included.

You met my kids in Greenville, mine's the Dark Blue Miata with tan top (yellow CSP13 or NOV13), most likely parked next to a black 328i, a black 325is, and a white 325is (probably not with the pink numbers this time)

Once again I feel obliged to offer up my 4 year old Falken Azenis in the desirable RT-215 compound mounted on stock Miata wheels just like Wes'.

Plus you won't have to worry about flat spotting them...they already come complete with flat spot on all four tires!!!!!!!
