Wasn't the T-1000 the more luxurious of the two, while the Chevette was the sporty one?

The phrase "Polishing a turd" comes to mind.

I think I remember that car. Wasn't it blue?

If I'm remembering things correctly, Jeb really liked that car.

Yep a navy blue 5-door. Maybe this is where my fixation of hatchbacks and wagons comes from. I will never forget Mike Christian making fun of that car when he didn't even have one and then his folks bought him a brown Chevette!

I did like that car, but I was young and dumb and didn't know what real cars were...

Poor Mike had some seriously bad cars. The brown Chevette was bad - he called it "The Vette." Then he had a Dodge Aspen station wagon for a while, and finally "upgraded" to a 4 cylinder Chevy Celebrity. Wall to wall maroon velvet upholstery, peeling paint, and a Yakima roof rack that was worth more than the car.

He's got an NSX now that stays in the garage under a cover all the time, so I guess he was about due for something nice.

Oddly enough when someone says "Chevette" I have a completely different image of it. I think "nice car."

But then I'm thinking of the HS2300 (bottom of page).

The resulting car was extremely fast with 135 hp
