The engine is OUT! I guesss now I'm about 40% complete. Now I have to start swapping parts off of the old and onto the replacement. I also realized that this engine was designed to be removed from the bottom of the car. Imagine how I delighted I was to discover this. The engine did make it's way out from the top. Thanks to this nice engine hoist that David let me borrow, I could tilt the engine and snake it out.

I guess the rest of the day is going to be degreasing and swapping. Wish me luck that it all goes back together!!

Wow, I can't beleive it. Finally got the replacement engine installed and buttoned up. Took a few minutes to start, but the damn thing runs!!! I have a few extra nuts and bolts left over, but I blame that on the partially disassembled motor that's now out of the car. This was my first true engine swap, but not looking forward to the next. This has sucked enought time away from my life.

As of now, it starts right up, no smoke and idles great. Now it's just a matter of putting the front axles on, brakes and taking it for a shake down run. After that, a bath, wax and interior cleaning and it should be up for sale next week.
