I am about to pull the trigger on a pair of seats for the Miata. As much as I like the weight of the Forza, I am leaning towards the A4 for the simple fact that they recline and should be a tad more comfortable for daily driving. That being said, what is the best place to buy these? Pricing online seems to be all the same with a few places offering free shipping. I just didn't know if there was a preferred vendor/sponsor I should talk to.

I'd advise test sitting some fixed back seats first before you pull the trigger on something that can recline (which doesn't protect you in a rear end collision). That being said, the last time I was in Carolina Mustang in Cary, they had Corbeaus on display.

A- TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!
B- Wuss, fixed back seats aren't that bad!
C- Check Miata.net there is a thread with which seats fit, and which seats do not.

Hell, in a Miata you can't recline the seats anyway!!! Well at least us normal sized people can't.

And be real careful about what some say will fit. The FX1Pro I have fits, but just barely and will not move all the way forward. I think the Forza doesn't have that problem.

Try anything before you buy

Actually the Forza's had a "dent" in the door panel of my old car, they BARELY fit

So Jeb, why are you buying seats? You know they only help you if you actually show up for a race!!! :poke:

I had Forzas in the former Holton Miata when it was mine, and if I had it to do over again, I would move up to something a little more comfy. The Forzas were good on track, but just weren't that comfortable anywhere else. The 5 hr drive to VIR from MD sucked with those seats. The seatback angle was bad for me. I used spacers and longer bolts to tilt them back a bit to help, but I just never liked those seats.

There are comfortable fixed back seats, but you probably won't find them in the Forza price range. I've spent some time in a few Sparco seats (the Evo and the Rev) and I liked both of them quite a lot. The Rev in particular was just right for me, and is a strong contender when I put seats in my 944. I also have some seat time in an old Recaro SPG. That's a good seat for taller folks, but it kinda swallowed me.

I've also sat in the Koenig seats that Wes and Vincent Keene have in their cars. I don't know if they can be found anymore, but that's probably the cheapest reasonably comfortable fixed back seat I've sat in.

Gone. I have one in my car for the instructor :) I bought it and then tried to buy another but they were gone. They were <$100 shipped.

The FX1 Pro I have is more comfortable and it gives me better support for my leg on track, but I would prefer to be able to move it up 1 more click for AX. Also, if you are any fatter than I am  (or plan to get there) you will not fit in it. I think I would re-think that seat if I had it to do over.

Is there anywhere local (even Charlotte) that has Kirkey or Ultrashield seats that you can try out?

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I have the Forza's in my 944, and the pass is the 'reg' and the driver is the 'large' version. And I am going to agree with Tom on comfort. ON track they are great, but more than an 1-1/5hrs in them on the street gets old. That may also have somthing to do with the suspension set up on the 944 tho

As for where to get them, cant believe everyone is forgetting about Mark over at Hubcap. He is a Corbeau dealer, ususally has at least once seat on hand and can order any of them. He is who got mine for me, for both the 944 and another project car in which I have the A4's in microsuede

I'll give a thumbsup to Mark for Corbeau's. He let me use the yellow floor model at Nationals in my STS car a few years back because the one's I ordered were on back order.

I drove 17.5 hours one way in that thing, with a trailer on the back with 8 tires and really stiff suspension. NEVER AGAIN :) - AB
