It must be a BMW owner thing. *Sarcasm*

In all seriousness, I have seen that multiple times. What gets me the most is when someone considers themselves to be a car enthusiast yet they allow their car to go for far too long without changing the oil. On top of that, they don't perform the service themselves either when it does get done. If that is the case, just imagine the condition of the rest of the car. When buying a car, it makes you question how well maintained a car is even when the seller (dealership and/or previous seller) states the car was maintained by a car enthusiast.

I like this bit of cocky assery" It takes automatic transmission fluid, not the "power steering fluid" other cars use."

OOOH. Like other cars use. Lots of of cars use ATF for power steering. It is not not just a BMW thing. Also, the Scirocco burns no oil. :)

It's actually quite a common phenomenon. The plumber always has the worst plumbing. The landscaper has the yuckiest looking yard. The cleaning people have the dirtiest homes. The mechanic drives the hooptie.

When I worked in auto parts several years ago, I probably let all my vehicles go far too long before things needed to be done. Talking cars and parts all day made me just want to stay FAR away from my own stuff.

I can forgive lazy, stupid not so easy.

I spend a lot of time on BMW motorcycle forums and those people are really the best bunch, with exception of THSCC folks of course, on the internet. I have even met a MD from NJ that was a nice guy, go figure
