Now that I'm a 1st gen Taurus owner again, this caught my eye. (Besides, Ford needs a competitive midsize sedan to fund future Mustang development :) )

That thing is a beast! What size wheels are those, 22's?

The roofline is really aggressive for a sedan though.

First thing I thought of too.

What is Ford going to learn from that to help out the Mustang. How to make it even heavier... Here's a hint Ford. Start using more aluminum and other light weight metals in your Stang and put it on a diet...

Considering that the same guy apparently styled both, I am not suprised!

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

My 2007 Mustang GT has an aluminum engine and an aluminum hood. It's a pretty big car, almost the size of an Accord V6 coupe. I can't compare it to a 2008 Camaro :P , but here are the curb weights that edmunds.com lists for this year's Mustang GT, Accord EX V6 coupe, and the diminutive BMW 135i:

Mustang: 3356 lbs http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/ford/mu ... specs.html
Accord: 3446 lbs http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/honda/a ... specs.html
135i: 3373 lbs http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/bmw/1se ... specs.html

I didn't say I want the new Taurus to influence future Mustangs (not sure that a direct injection turbo V6 fits the Mustang image), but I sure want it to provide the R&D funds.

i have no pony car in this fight (at least not no more) but that 135i weight seems a tad bit under estimated per everything i read Art. they are more like 3445.
