There's a brand-spankin-new 135i in the parking lot at work. Marty, do you know who might be the owner?

Wasn't Marty looking for a 4-5 passenger convertible?

The new owner I know of isn't me.

I do know that Performance got a shipment in and people are taking delivery.

Will it be available for test drives? Maybe rentals for sessions?

Wow, we can rent an Elise for $150 a day? Matt, I think you've found our club's Jimmy V autocross special. We rent that thing for $150, setup a shoot out at the end of the regular autox for say 25 people, $30 entry fee, 3 runs each. Winner gets a THSCC Jimmy V Challenge trophy. Jimmy V gets $750-150 = $600. Someone (I volunteer Matt) returns it at the end of the day (and runs). Hey, if Matt goes and rents it, I'll throw in the $150! :D

Chuck, enough blue painters tape for the runs and remove it at the end and the owner *may* not even notice the tires are bald. Sounds like a winner to me.

I find this hilarious, do you rent it so you can pick up chicks? It must come with the picnic seduction package.

Step one, Talk to a girl at a bar on friday night tell here you are with friends tonight but your car is a Lotus and you were wondering if she would like to accompany you on picnic to a local state park. Tell her to Dress casual because even though you have tons of money you just aren't into showing off.

Step Two, After the picnic of cheese and cheap wine tell her you want to get a pic of your first date to show your kids when you are happily married and living in your big house.

STep Three: Tell you know a great little spot where you take the blanket and talk about her hopes and dreams.

Step Four: After the activities drop her off and tell her you can't wait until you see her again. Oh, make sure at the bar that you mentioned you were Donnie Barnes because she might work for a bank and can check your net worth before the date!

$150 sounds like a deal to me

I don't think an Elise is really a car chicks would dig... My wife hates small cars and thinks the S2k looks like a Miata- not that there's anything wrong with that.

A '94 Esprit S4 would draw more attention IMO but you might not make it home on your date.

Chuck: I didn't even think about the possibilities of exploiting the car amongst people willing to 'test' it at an autocross. That's a fantastic idea!

So much for the NCSU Business School teaching me anything.

Hell, if you split $150 between two folks for a day of autocross, isn't that about the equivalent cost of tire wear for some of you guys on 18" Hoosiers? j/k
