I feel the 128 will be placed in DS and the 135 will get put into FS just like the 328 and 335.

maniacal laugh (haaaahahaha)

word on the street is they are having overheating issues with this motor in track scenarioes. might want to opt for the 2009 model.

Yeah, but I think they come standard with those tires that seal punctures.

tire walls be damned. i will return. unfortunately not until May most likely. unless i find a chin event in April.

i too have heard the 135i will be in the low 30's. damn good deal if you ask me.

Hopefully that is the as-tested weight -- 32xx something sounds more like it. My 03 330i zhp weighs 3370 lbs, and my 06 weighs 3450 lbs. I can't imagine it not being a good bit lighter than the E90 330i.

The 135i has to be in at least F-stock like the 335 I would think. Without a limited slip diff, putting all the awesome torque to good use will be difficult in the tight sections....heck maybe any section. :)

I can't imagine how fast one of these will be with a Vishnu Procede stage 2 and an exhaust. The Procede 335i stage 2 is hitting somewhere north of 110mph in the 1/4 mile. 135i owners can spend about 1/2 what the new M3 will cost and be able to keep up with it not to mention having a much better torque (I think Vishnu has been getting close to 400 lb-ft) to weight ratio!

So the Cayman S is just under 300HP and weighs in at very near 3000 pounds and it's in SS...WITH NO DIFF. This car is only 300 pounds more and people think it's going in DS? Seems unlikely. I know it isn't a "sportscar" like the Cayman, but it'll be pretty dang good, may have better power, and the weight is 10% more. I know 300 is fairly significant, but come on...

(And yeah, the Cayman S is a big underdog in SS...)

sounds like that infernal "Porsche Tax" rearing it's evil head once more Mr. Barnes.

Chuck, have you seen anyone developing a LSD for the 135i yet?

We've been saying F-stock for the 135i and D-stock for the 128i. It wouldn't surprise me if they stick the 135i in B-stock though.

I've heard of a couple of sources for the E90 LSD (Turner I think was one of them), and I would guess that it will be the same diff? Or does the 135i have the E46 rear suspension? Seems like I read that someplace a long time ago.

The base Cayman is in AS at 245HP and 2950 pounds. You're not going to get it much under 2900 pounds, so that's around 12 pounds per HP. If you can get the 135i to 3250 pounds, at 300HP that's just under 11 pounds per HP. And the base Cayman is in AS. Hmm...

The STi is 300HP and around the same weight as the 135i, too. And it's in AS. Now, I'm just pointing out this stuff here...there hasn't been any discussion of this car other than "we need to see one in the flesh" by the powers that be yet. But I think BS is perhaps a bit optimistic at this point...(yeah, the STi has diffs, but the Cayman don't).

Here's a decent thread from the 1-series forums that raises a few interesting points, like the car lacking a sunroof (hopefully!).

Speaking of weighing cars, where can I weigh mine in the triangle area?

April is the wife's birthday. yes Cline even my marriage has a "divorce threshold" Alfa on South? eh maybe, but if memory serves me it was only 60 minutes per day. Chin is 210 per day.

Try 2500.
Well. 2521 to be precise.

He probably meant ~2700lbs with a decent driver aboard.

ORLY? I feel I am capable of spectacular finishes though.
I think I'd like to test drive one of these. You know just because. I figure next time I'm at Flow for service on the MINI, see if they have one. Play the whole, I think I'm more mature, perhaps I should consider moving up into a proper marquee thing. . . .

Then ask if you can turn the traction control all the way off.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

Good news...

The preprinted material was generous on the weight. BMW now says:
Un laden weights for manual and (automatic):
128i: 3252 (3329)
135i: 3372 (3384)

Yeah but we all know the STi has the EVIL AWD and the SCCA must do everything in its powers to make sure an AWD vehicle doesnt win a damn thing.

depends on how its specced, the sunroof adds a whopping 65 lbs. Also, depending on how full the tank is, what wheels its got, etc. Was 2521 your fighting weight for nationals? Heck, going from the "S-lites" to her current wheels, her car shed ~50 lbs!
