So I can imagine how the temp difference between the fuel and ambient may have had a larger delta than normal. I personally don't think any team was cheating and that the results should stand.
However, I really wonder if Hamilton had moved up a position or two in the race and had won the championship AND McLaren ended up in this position (fuel temp to ambient delta to large) that there would have been a much larger chance that McLaren would have been penalized and that Hamilton would have had the championship taken away from him.
I say this because it seems F1 is starting to apply rules differently depending upon things such as the team and other factors vs. just going by the rulebook.
