Whew, this was tiring, but damn fun!!

Flying: ROCKS!!! 45 mins to Philly, get raped for a bagel in the food court, 45 mins to Williamsport. Still dont understand those who jump out of these things, never felt the urge to on either flight ;) I do think my flight was sponsored by Frigidare, I havent been that cold in a long time!!! Still never thought of jump out though

Guy pulls up, I hear the car from a good distance away and it sounds pretty damn cool. I give the car the once over. No rust or MAJOR flaws, front bumper cover has some rash, paint needs to be buffed, but just what I expected.

So I hop in and drive it to the notary. Power is good but we are lugging around 300-400lbs of junk in the trunk and backseat. It really didnt seem to run out of steam up top either It tracked straight and felt tight. It does NOT like to be downshifted to first at any speed.

Get out at the notary and give it the once over again. The car has a better security system than Ft Knox. There are 10 million spare parts. New Battery and new wiper blades in the last week. Do the deal with the notary and head over to get the last 2 wheels.

Get the last 2 wheels in and head out. Get the GPS setup and head down US15/US11 per the advice of the old dude at the notary. No sooner than I get out of town then I see what looks like a Red Ferrari up ahead. So I scoot up to him. Yup, mint 308 GTV, so I get to gawk at it for the next 30 mins.

I know Les said PA roads sucked and my past experience was the same but it seemed like the roads I was on had just be freshly paved. Not a pothole in sight.

The cruise back was VERY enjoyable. Torque is your friend. This car is the best windows down driving car I have ever owned. I HATE driving with the windows down and I drove most of the way back with them down.

I got a HUGE surprise on 295 as I stopped for gas. Jason Mauldin said that 30 mpg was not possible in a 240, so I didnt get 30 mpg, I actually got 31.3 to be exact That's with the windows down and 300-400 lbs of extra weight.

There is a ton of things I am leaving out, but Im very happy and tired!

Here are some pics this morning of all the stuff I was toting around on the way home.

The car

Big brakes that are firm as hell. The guy said that they are nothing but stock pads because anything more was too harsh.

PARTS GALORE!!!

If Ryan even thinks of a motor swap for this car in the first year, I'm gonna come back down to NC and smack him.

seems to be the answer to every motor swap question on these boards, Porsche? LS1! BMW? LS1! 240? LS1!

You guys would probably love this thread (possibly a repost, if it is, I apologize):

Whats next, an LS1 into a CRX? A Mini?

Rockingham HPDE is its debut.

Unfortunately for STS or STX this bugger has items that arent kosher for ST*

-Intake Cam from an 89-94 240sx (REALLY helps it breath up top)
-Aluminum Driveshaft
-Aftermarket Heim Joint Traction Control Rods
-300zx brakes F and Rear

So Im off to annoy Street Mod. Taking those things off would require work, and Im not really looking to do that right now. If were to ever get put back to ST* legal, it would be for STX (I have 2 sets of 8" rims already)

Hmmm... Maybe a conversion for the Celica. Super Grapemobile! Then again I'm trying to meet Jim F. half way and try FWD with no torque for a while...

Ryan leave that engine alone. :stick: Engines don't like you! Limit yourself to oil changes only for a while. Get a buffer and polish and wax that thing up. You shouldn't be able to hurt too much and the car will look nice and shiny :D

That's the game plan.

I already have wheels, tires, Koni's, and roll bar.

Just need some pimpin' street wheels, Ground Controls, and a big front bar.

This car is gonna be kept MUCH like it sits today. NO standalone engine management and the AC is going back IN the car. It makes good power, good sounds and it quite comfortable.

Please flog me about the head if I stray from the path of the straight an narrow.

That is unless I find a killer deal on a LS1 ;)
