Is there any real evidence of this? I know the "new evidence" that blew the whole thing up was email between Alonso and the test driver, and apparently between Coughlin and Stepney as well, but did Alonso provide it?
The team dynamics (Alonso very cold towards RD and the crew - note that he didn't acknowledge them with a close drive-by of the pits at Monza), and RD's seeming to make a huge extra effort to be nice to Alonso have me wondering. Is Alonso going to take some moral high-ground stand and say McLaren are rotten to the core, and try for a ride elsewhere, or is he just using all the crap as leverage to re-assert himself as #1 driver in the team?

As the wheel turns...

It's surprising to me that if Alonso and Lewis did play a part in their team having to incriminate themselves, that they still have jobs at all. You can pretty much guarantee that Alonso will be somewhere else next season.

Alonso + Massa at Ferrari! Then you'd see fireworks!

I would slit my wrists.

I heart Massa and he keeps getting a raw deal as a #2.

Alonso wasn't in Paris for the court appearance, and Lewis was. Fred was in Spa doing stuff, and that doesn't look good from a team unity POV.

I have liked Alonso in the past, but he does seem to be a bit of a baby in the recent past. He should just shut up and let his driving do the talking (which I think he has been trying to do). Overall, I just think that Hamilton really rattled him. I also lost some respect of Hamilton out of all of this as well as he shares some of the blame for the feud. But I probably had him up on an unrealistic pedestal. He is not perfect.

Overall, I still am a Williams and Honda fan. Not much of a Ferrari fan at all.

I guess I still believe that the punishment should fit the crime. I think that for the remainder of 07 and all of 08 Mclaren should have to share all of their technical drawings with ALL the other teams.

We might see a few back markers make up some of the ground in their development :)

So what happens to the guy that actually stole the drawings?

This morning they said that there is a fairly reliable rumour that Fred blackmailed McLaren and said that unless McLaren agreed to make him #1 and either fired Lewis or put a restrictor plate or made him drive Kimi's old car or something, he would turn the emails over to the FIA. Instead of giving in, Ron Dennis just turned over the emails. I think the penalty severity was as a result of the FIA being lied to.

And Bernie gets richer.......

Should be a fun race on Sunday. Fred and Lewis may take each other out

Alonso is apparently acting like a world class d-bag.

Matchett sounded pretty angry. Assuming the blackmail rumours are true, I wonder if Ron Dennis is going to try to take the high road and keep Alonso through the end of the season. Or drop him before the end of the season. If he was to drop him, who would replace him?

They were talking through the scenarios during the DVRed second practice that I'm watching now. Keeping him on is a bigger middle finger than punting him IMHO.

Funny, that's exactly what Hobbs said this morning on SpeedTV during practice. Saturday qualifying conversation should be interesting.
