Plenty of 4 and 4.5 fun vehicles out there, but true 5 passenger cars seem to be rare...

Darn it.

Discrimination!!

At least there are a couple still in the running.

Obviously you were never at a Rocky Mount autocross when Bob Kendrick filled his huge Buick (or whatever) with passengers and took the whole car load for some thrilling rides. It had a BIG "non stock" motor and racing transmission and suspension.   I never took the rides (chicken I guess  ) but I saw the grins from the brave souls who did.

Probably or maybe a Park Avenue. I wonder if there is any big new car that can be realistically "upgraded" for family hauler use? Probably not the convertible you were looking for . . .

It was a White '83 Buick Park Ave with seating for 6 and a built Olds 455, Herb Adams suspension, Konis, 8 inch wheels wiht 295 rubber, and a brute strength diff shimmed up to 600 ft lbs. It also had dual 2 1/2 inch stainless steel exhaust with flow masters for that big block sound.

The trouble spot was that the car could eat a nascar preped transmission in a manner of minuites.

Bob sold the car to someone who traided it to a small car dealer on capital blvd. It got stolen fron the dealership and ended up wrapped around a tree in Fayetteville after a long chase by the highway patrol.

I seem to recall the white paint was a late addition. When I first met Bob (and George, etc) it had the original champagne beige metallic paint, which complimented the brown padded vinyl roof and the brown velour loose-pillow style bench seats. He had substituted (Firebird?) speedo and tach in place of the original speedo and giant clock which normally occupied the two large gauge openings in the simulated woodgrain dashboard, and they looked very much at home. I rode along with Bob on two laps of the P and Laurinburg, and Bob was pretty busy keeping that thing between the weeds...

I remember the car when it was Brown/light green. It made great sounds.

Auto's Only...no manual available

I think I may give up on newer cars and go old school. Heck, maybe an old Datsun 810 and through in the l28T that I have sitting in a friends garage. I think it's a straight bolt in.

If you can't buy one, build one.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
