Now that is just wrong. There aren't many cars that handled worse than the 1971 Galaxie 500 that my father had when I got my license, but the Toronado is surely one.
Dad's car had the only manual transmission (special high-effort 3 speed column shift) installed in a full size car during the 1970s, 2 bbl 351W, 4 drum brakes with no power assist, and non-centering power steering. I am proud to say it could absolutely smoke a 1976 Caprice wagon. Unfortunately, about 2 minutes after that epic victory, I was sitting in the passenger seat of a 1975 Plymouth Fury, looking mournfully at the policeman's radar display
