Alonso has been demoted to 6th after his move (or lack thereof) in the pit lane during Q3.

First there was this: http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2007/8/6588.html

Then FIA disagrees: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/61370

Holy schnikes.

McMerc also will not receive any points in the constructors championship this weekend.

I'm glad they did that. What Alonso did was akin to The Chin parking it in the final turn during qualifying at Monaco. Very unsportsman like.

Now that he has Hamilton as a teammate, Alonso is turning into a whiny baby.

The only reason the car is so good anyway is they stole from Ferrari

Hamilton jumped in front of Alonso at the beginning of Q3, supposedly going against the team strategy. They are both acting a little silly.

Hamilton is a little different than the whipping post Fisichella was for him. . .

Whisky Tango Foxtrot, over. The current McMerc chassis had begun construction last August, yet the documents that were received in April 2007 caused them to be so much faster? Riiiiiiiiight. Don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

Nevermind, you're probably right. The turnover of such documents caused Massa to qualify 14th in Hungary and be worked by Takuma effing Sato for most of the race in protest to the FIA's decision on the matter.

I can't believe it, I agree with Wes!

Its not like McLaren had a slow car last year, they just had an unreliable car. When Kimi's car could make it through a race last year, it was hard to beat. IROC, there were a couple times where he had to drop 10 positions after qualifying due to replacing an engine, only to still end up on the podium.

Sounds like the two are pretty angry with one another. . .

Look like the FIA is learning form Nascar.....
Giving penalty to manipulate the championship....
For me this is BS. Let the guy's race and see who is the fastest.
If Hamilton really went ahead against the team, well Alonso payback might be OK.
As for spying who doesn't do it.....

KIdding. As they said on the tube, the car was built by then, McLaren just got it right.

I still think Alonso is a whiney brat. He was whining last year about Michael, he whined about his car last year when he stopped winning easily, now he is whining about his teammate. He is a good driver, he needs to shut up and drive

I do think the penalties were kind of stupid, especially the constructor's points. It was within one team, let them fight it out internally. Also, Fischecella holding up a Spyker?????? nothing can hold up a Spyker

After the first race, I said that Ron Dennis has got himself a Prost and Senna again. It looks like he has exactly that, and not only in terms of their driving. :)

Exactly. The reigning King sees they have hired a new Prince. Doesn't take it too seriously since he is, after all, the World Champion and Principal Driver on the team. Then this new guy knocks out podium finishes in all of his 1st 9 races, with some being wins. The King gets really disgruntled. At that point you just knew the crap was going to start...

But what the heck. Dennis got 2 excellent drivers out of the deal. Now he just has to figure out how to keep some semblance of peace in the castle...

I wonder if the McLaren penalty was a hold-over from them not getting any penalty on the spying case.

I'm loving the Alonso/Hamilton (sibling)-rivalry. Lewis definitely seems like the favored son, how could you not expect Fernando to act out  ?

I actually agree with the Fisi penalty - just cause the Spykers are dogs doesn't mean the rules don't protect them as well.
