The person that did this will remain nameless, but out of courtesy in doing business with me or my company please keep the following things in mind:

1. Do not drop ship tires to my store. If they are not part of my inventory you are to bring them with you to be installed. We are not a holding wharehouse. I can match price and find just about any tire you are looking for.

2. If your car has unique features like staggered wheels or tire sizes, it is always helpful to review everything with your salesman, especially if I am not there. A lot of these cars we do not see everyday so just make sure we are on the same page.

3. Treat my guys (manager included) with respect, we do not appreciate being belittled or talked down to. You can leave your sarcasm at home too.

I have tried to do what I can to support the club and its efforts but after this one person did this my manager is a little iffy on "going through some of the hassles". I have no problem taking care of you guys and mounting other competitors tires, but these three things can end it for everyone. Sorry for the vent, I just find it unacceptable to treat people and a company the way this person did. Plus I should have to get talked to because "one of my racer buddies came by and ...." Frankly if I was there, I probably would have refused service.

/vent

Again the number at the store is 919-363-3027. Other questions can be answered here: http://www.thscc.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=6503

That sucks. Sounds like there was an internal escalation for you to be notified outside of the office. There are two sides to every story, but to be disrespectful makes their side moot. Apparently the person didn't do their due diligence in scheduling things. Hopefully they didn't screw up the support that Discount Tire has been giving on an individual and club level(Jimmy V.) basis.

Nothing will screw up the support of something like the Jimmy-V event, as those requests were made higher up than the store level. What situations like this can do is make things more difficult for other labor related things (mounts, dismounts, etc.) I think it has blown over. I just wanted the guilty party to be aware of the potential outcome of doing something like this.

For now I think things have blown over so we are all good. I have yet to hear an apology e-mail, PM or otherwise from this person, even after sending him the link to this post directly. I guess some folks just have no scruples.
