I have a friend that is looking for a place in the Raleigh area that rents garage or powered storage space relatively inexpensively. He wants to buy a 1967 Mustang fastback that is completely disassembled, and rent a place long enough to turn it into a roller (few months?).

He's looked into some of the storage places, but has ruled them out because usually they don't have power, or if they do, they won't allow you to work on your car there.

Anybody know of such a place?

Thanks,

Mark

I had a regular 5x10 storage place there and they were great to work with. I know they have bigger units in the back they will let you do most anything you want with. They actually let me use a storage unit as a paint booth one weekend for free! I know they don't mind you doing automotive work in them. Give'em a ring.

Some place like this would be ideal:

(But not as obviously geared towards the super rich)

I'm also looking for somewhere to store and work on a car that is reasonably secure to avoid the HOA blues. I know K&E offers car storage but I'm sure they would frown on trying to work on something like a rally car next to a 250GTO... I've done the 10 x 20 storage closet before but that is a pain for several reasons, the lack of power and narrow space being the main issues.
